The police in Lagos have arrested a couple, Mr. and Mrs. James Uwam, in Festac area while having the christening ceremony of a two-month-old boy they bought for N2.4m.

Apprehended alongside the embattled couple is Pastor Peter Udoh, and two others.

The baby’s mother had reported his missing to the police alleging one Gloria Sunday of absconding with him on July 11, 2024.

On the strength of the complaint, detectives at Oko-Oba Division of the Lagos State Police Command swung into action, and arrested Sunday.

According to report, under interrogation, Sunday confessed to selling the baby for ₦500,000 to Pastor Udoh who in turn said he resold the child for N1.4m to one Loretta Nelson.

“Loretta was then apprehended in Festac Town, Lagos. She confessed to selling the baby for N2.4 million,” the Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, Benjamin Hundeyin narrated.
