The report that rife that the federal government concluded arrangement to give each Nigerian N30,000 has drawn the comment of the presidency.
A statement credited to Special Adviser on Media and Publicity to President Muhammadu Buhari, Femi Adesina, had said Buhari approved N30,000 relief package for every Nigerian with a verified Bank Verification Number (BVN) to mitigate hardships occasioned by the coronavirus pandemic.
But Adesina denied the statement originated from him claiming it was false narrative concocted and pushed by purveyor of fake news.
“Fake news peddlers have concocted a statement, purportedly issued by me, saying FG will pay N30,000 to each Nigerian with BVN, to help them stock up before an impending national lockdown. Not me,” he told NAN.
