Two Akwa Ibom State commissioners rumoured to have resigned from Governor Umo Eno’s cabinet have dispelled the report.

The concerned commissioners are: Prof. Eno Ibanga (Works and Fire Service) and Emem Bob (Finance).

Gov. Eno on Friday officially dumped the Peoples Democratic Party for the ruling All Progressives Congress alongside the state lawmakers and their counterparts from the state in the National Assembly.

In constrast, Commissioner for Special Duties and Ibom Deep Seaport, Ini Ememobong, stayed put in the PDP and also resigned from the governor’s cabinet.

Report that followed that Prof. Ibanga and Bob had also turned in their resignation letters as commissioners have been pushed back by both.

Their refutal is the subject of a statement Ibanga’s information officer, Evelyn Ibanga, released, in which they said their resignation rumour is completely false and a product of mischief-makers attempting to stir political confusion and undermine the unity and focus of the present administration.

“It is a figment of the imagination of its orchestrators, who are clearly unsettled by the Commissioner’s unwavering performance and loyalty.

“Let it be stated for the records that Professor Eno Ibanga’s loyalty to Governor Umo Eno and the administration remains sacrosanct, resolute, and unquestionable.

“He continues to work tirelessly in support of the governor’s vision for infrastructural development and good governance in Akwa Ibom State,” the statement read in part.
