The death of the Special Adviser to Governor Sheriff Oborevwori on Trade and Export, Mrs Shimitte Love, has landed her widower, Pastor Love in the custody of the police.
The circumstances surrounding the death of the governor’s aide is in dispute with the deceased’s family accusing the husband of causing it.
The ensuing tension, according to the police made Pastor Love to approach them for protection, the Public Relations Officer of the Delta State Command, SP Bright Edafe said.
“We didn’t arrest her husband. He is in protective custody.
“The husband was the one who called to say that his wife died early this morning, that he is receiving threats from the wife’s family and that there is fear that they want to attack him.
“It was based on that ground that we went to his house and got him out.
“However, the family came this morning to lodge an official complaint against the husband that they suspect that it was the husband that killed her. So, on that ground, we are still investigating.
“In cases like this, it is only an autopsy that will determine whether it was natural or if there was something else,”Edafe explained.
