The claim that Doctor Uyi Iluobe was killed by patient’s relatives has been dispelled by the police.
Iluobe was shot dead in his hospital at Oghara in Delta State on New Year’s eve.

His murder was attributed to unknown relatives of a patient in his hospital by the Nigerian Medical Association, NMA, who went on to call on the police to launch investigation into the grievous matter in a statement released by the association.
However, the NMA’s account is at variance with that of the police. The later said late doctor was killed by cultists.
They stated this by means of tweet, saying: “The Nigerian Medical Association visits CP Delta over the murder of Dr Uyi Iluobe by suspected cultists who came into the hospital in Oghara pretending to be patients and shot him while he was attending to them.
“He was not killed by the family of any dead patient as being alleged, please.”
