Obaseki won his first term election on APC ticket. Following his ill-fated bid to seek reelection on the party’s platform he defected to the PDP, became its flag-bearer and on Saturday got reelected.

Fayose took to his official twitter handle, @GovAyoFayose, to advise Obaseki not to return to APC fold even in the face of pressure from the party’s chieftains.

The tweet:  “I congratulate Godwin Obaseki and urge him to see this victory as a challenge by the people of Edo State to do more for them. Most importantly, I wish to remind him that @OfficialPDPNig came to his rescue in his hour of political need.

“Obaseki should remain in the @OfficialPDPNig, not minding the pressure that will be mounted on him.”
