Mrs Abimbola Omotoso, wife of a former House of Assembly member and Peoples Democratic Party chieftain, Dr Samuel Omotoso, who is enmeshed in a rape scandal has risen to the defence of her husband.
Dr Omotoso in the fifth assembly represented Oye Constituency 01 but has been dogged by claim that he raped his family’s housemaid.
Defending her spouse, Mrs Omotoso described the said maid as uncouth.

She further alleged that the allegation against her husband was politically motivated and a ploy by the state government to make him fall into disrepute saying this in an interview with Punchng.com, “The allegation is untrue, politically motivated just like many others made against my husband in the past and I wonder when he will be allowed his freedom to private life.
“My husband is a medical doctor and Peoples Democratic Party politician who contested, won and served as the House member from Oye Constituency 1, the same constituency with His Excellency Governor Kayode Fayemi of Ekiti State in the fifth assembly.”
