Gov Ayade

Three commissioners in Cross River State on Tuesday were prevented from having access into their offices after the state governor, Senator Ben Ayade locked them out for coming late to work.

The Commissioner for Agriculture, Professor Egrinya Eneji, Commissioner for Water Resources, Gabe Odu Orji, and their Sustainable Development counterpart, Oliver Orok, earned the wrath of Senator Ayade during his unscheduled visits to their ministries around 9.00am and met their absence.

However, the visibly angry governor met Commissioner for Women Affairs, Mrs. Stella Odey on her seat and was full of praise for her. He also talked about his resolve to deal decisively with any commissioner who comes late henceforth.

“I am sad over what I saw this morning. It is shocking that it is already gone past 8.00 a.m yet commissioners are not found on their seats. I will not take kindly to this culture of lateness to work and I am going to do something about it,” he said.
