Abdulrasheed Bawa, the Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, has reacted to his conviction for court contempt.
An Abuja High Court had convicted Bawa of contempt of court, for EFCC’s failure to comply with a November 21, 2018 court order, directing the anti-graft agency to return a Range Rover and N40m to former Director of Operations at the Nigerian Air Force, Air Vice Marshal Rufus Ojuawo.
The car and the sum were seized from Ojuawo.
Bawa’s reaction to his conviction has come by proxy with EFCC Spokesman Wilson Uwujaren telling Punchng, “The Commission is appealing the ruling.”
