An operative of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, Mohammed Idris, who exposed how Attorney-General of Federation and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami, in leaked audio has been detained and kept at a facility of the anti-graft agency in Abuja, Nigeria’s capital.
Idris was heard in a viral audio revealing how Malami is allegedly peddling influence to unfreeze bank accounts of high net-worth individuals in a leaked conversation he(Idris) had with the younger brother of a crime suspect.
According to SaharaReporters, the EFCC operative, a lawyer and policeman, is in detention of the anti-graft agency quoting his colleague, “Yes, he’s detained. He was arrested when the audio leaked to media and was published. He is being detained at the EFCC in Abuja.”
The federal government said 70 illegal universities and 125 Colleges of Education in similar manner have been discovered.
