A shadow was yesterday cast on Odo Oro, a community in Ikole Local Government Area of Ekiti State following the killing of the sleepy village’s monarch, Onise of Odo Oro, Oba Gbadebo Ogunsakin, by a lunatic.
Oba Ogunsakin’s killer who a manhunt has been launched for, is mentally sick with reports saying leading up to his vile act he was sighted sitting on the monarch’s throne after the traditional council meeting, and was chased away.
He was said to have returned later to commit the heinous crime, an act which brought grief on the whole town.
The state Police Command spokesperson Caleb Ikechukwu, a Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP), confirmed the incident saying: “The person alleged is an unsound mind, and he actually escaped into the bush after committing the crime. But our men are combing the bush to fetch the suspect out.
“All I can say for now is that the suspect is within reach and will be put to custody.”
