Governor Nasir el-Rufai has sued Senator Shehu Sani alleging that the senator representing the Kaduna Central defamed his character.
In the suit, el-Rufai is seeking N2bn damages from Sani as compensation for the injury he allegedly suffered as a result of “the malicious statements” by the Senator through the mass media.
The governor alleged that Sani humiliated him and defamed his integrity by calling him a drunk, loose cannon and an embarrassment to President Muhammadu Buhari.
Among other reliefs, Governor el-Rufai is seeking a declaration that the alleged derogatory remarks were totally false and injurious to his person in the eyes of the public.
