The Minister of State for Aviation, Senator Hadi Sirika, has faulted the weather excuses the Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission, Prof. Mahmood Yakubu gave as reason for the postponement of the election.
Prof. Yakubu had told the stakeholders including the foreign observers on Sunday that among others the election was postponed on account of alleged bad weather that affected flight operation.
Faulting the INEC boss’ claim, via his verified Twitter handle on Sunday, Sirika tweeted that the country’s weather was good for flight operations on the Election Day’s eve.
“INEC should say something else as weather was good for flight operations on the eve of elections, similarly all airports were directed to open 24 hours during the election period,” the aviation minister tweeted.
