A female lawyer, Elizabeth Agboje, has been arrested and charged with torture and willful abuse of her adopted child in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, according to the State Police Command.

Agboje, who was one of the suspects paraded by the police on Wednesday, allegedly tortured 9-year-old Miss Bright Maxson, who she adopted.
The mother-of-two was said to be fond of calling her victim a ‘witch’.
According to the State Commissioner of Police, Mr. Ahmed Zaki, “She (Agboje) is also alleged to have subjected her to all manners of degrading treatments for over seven years. The lawyer is a suspect who has made useful statement to the police and as soon as investigation is concluded, she will be charged to court for proper prosecution.”
