The ongoing EndSARs protest on Friday in Benin, the Edo State capital suffered a casualty with one of the protesters killed by armed thugs.
The peaceful protest turned bloody at Ring Road area after arms bearing thugs ambushed the protesters leaving eight injured and one dead.
“We lost a protester during #EdoProtest today. A hero. May his soul rest in peace,” a twitter user, Maybeks posted with the bloody dead body of the victim, whose identity is yet unknown as at the time of this publication.
“We are currently receiving disturbing reports of attacks on #EndSARS protesters around Ring Road and other parts of #Benin city. The attackers brandishing cutlasses and guns have severely injured many protesters,” Amnesty International wrote about the incident.
