A taxi driver suffering from epilepsy on Saturday caused his own death and that of four students of Kwara State Polytechnic, Ilorin.
It happened that the driver had a seizure, and rammed his cab into an oncoming trailer, causing his own death and the students in the accident.
According to persons in whose presence the accidents unfolded, the four students were in the Mass Communications Department of the Kwara State Polytechnic.
They said the decased had completed their exams, and were heading home at Oke-Ose area, an Iorin outskirts, where they had planned to leave for Lagos on that fateful day.
Their journey was however, cut short before it was in full swing. .
It was said that the driver suffered seizure after driving few kilometres while on top speed and lost control, initially hitting a vulcanizer’s machine, which was by the roadside, before it swerved to the other side of the road, this time in front of an oncoming trailer, which crushed all the five occupants.
