Former Plateau State Governor Joshua Dariye is currently hospitalised at the University of Abuja Teaching Hospital, Gwagwalada in Abuja, for kidney failure.
Dariy is serving ten years jail sentence in Kuje prison in Abuja for diverting and laundering of N1.126 billion Ecological Funds belonging to the Plateau State Government while in office as the governor.
The former governor is battling kidney failure and has been in the hospital since last year’s December, The Nation reports.
“I have gone to see him. He is having serious health challenges. From my finding and from the doctor, his aliment is kidney failure and it is critical,” the paper quoted a government source as saying.
It said the Nigeria Prisons Service (NPS), FCT Command Public Relations Officer (PRO), Chukwuedo Humphrey, also confirmed that Dariye’s sickness but declined to state his ailment.
