Mr. Ben Onyechere, ex-Special Adviser on Public Communications to immediate past governor of Abia State, Chief Theodore Orji, has been assassinated.

Onyechere was found dead after he was kidnapped by unknown gunmen on Sunday night around 8 p.m. in Ikenegbu axis of Owerri where he went for shopping with his driver.
Report says the assailants about five in number had trailed Onyechere to a popular super market in Ikenegbu where they forced his driver out of his car before speeding off with their target.
It was said that the driver sustained a gunshot wound to his leg as he was shot twice.
The worse happened to Oncheyere. According to report, his lifeless body was found a few streets away from Maris Junction, Ikenegbu Owerri.
