Former Taraba State Governor, Jolly Nyame, was on Wednesday sentenced to 14 years imprisonment by Justice Adebukola Banjoko of Abuja High Court.
Nyame who is called with the appellation “Reverend” was accused by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, of fraud and was found guilty as charged.
Before yesterday’s verdict, the case which started way back in 2007 dragged for eleven years.
Justice Banjoko sentenced the ex-governor to 14 years of imprisonment without an option of fine, two years for criminal misappropriation; seven years for receiving gratification and five years for “obtaining valuable thing without consideration.”
