A former Zamfara State governor, Senator Ahmad Yerima, has shared happenings surrounding his marriage with the then 14 year old Egyptian bride.
Yerima’s wedding with the child girl in 2010 sparked outrage with many imputing paedophile to him.
Over a decade into the affairs, the Senator in an interview with Channels Television’s Politics Today, on Friday, said his Egyptian wife has not missed out on education like his daughter who equally was a teenager when she got married.
According to him, “She is doing her Master’s Degree now.
“I told you my own daughter who was married at the age of 16, is doing her Ph.D.
“Marriage does not stop people from getting educated.”
