Former Super Eagles goalkeeper, Wilfred Agbonavbare has died from cancer three years after his wife’s death from the same disease.

Aged 48, the ex-international died in Prince of Asturias Hospital in Alcalá de Henares, in Madrid on Tuesday.

A father-of-three, Agbonavbare deputized for goalkeeper Peter Rufai in the Super Eagles in 1994 Nations Cup, which the team won and the 1994 World Cup in US.
