President Muhammadu Buhari has called on leaders of Igbo extraction to make known those behind the recent killings of some citizens of Niger Republic in South-east.  

Buhari made the call among other charges in a statement his media aide, Garba Shehu released in which the president promised a speedy investigation to bring the perpetrators to justice. 

The president urged community and religious leaders to ”speak more forcefully against the killings, stand up and defend the ethos of our cultural and religious heritage.” 

Mr Buhari added, “Those who know should point at specific people who did this.” 

He expressed his regime’s unwavering commitment to peace and stability in the South-East and the entire country. 

He offered his condolences to the families of the security agents murdered and the government and people of the Niger Republic, whose nationals were killed.
