Embattled Kogi State deputy governor-elect, Hon. James Faleke caused a mild drama at the venue of the ongoing defence of the 2016 Budget when he seized the phone of a staff of the Energy Commission of Nigeria (ECN) who took his snapshot from his camera phone.
The incident happened on Thursday during the budget defence of the Energy Commission of Nigeria (ECN) before the House of Representatives.
Hon. Faleke caught Mr. Bala Mohammed, a staff of ECN in the act of taking a snapshot of him and wrestled the phone, which he used to snap him from him.
The lawmaker who was visibly angry, and scolded Mohammed returned the phone to the owner after he supervised the deletion of his picture.
It would be recalled that the Lagos State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party is seeking Hon. Faleke’s removal in the law court, from the lower Chamber of the National Assembly, over double representations, arguing that his nomination by APC, as its candidate for the House of Representatives’ election of March 28, 2015, representing Federal Constituency 1, Ikeja, Lagos State, and his subsequent nomination by his party as deputy governorship candidate for the November 21, 2015, gubernatorial election of Kogi State, under the Ekinrin Ade Ward of Ijumu Local Government Area, of the state while he is still a member of the House of Representatives, amounted to multiple nominations, hence unconstitutional.
Faleke had also dragged the Independent Electoral Commission to court seeking to be declared winner of the Kogi State governorship election.
