Austin Segun, a father from hell, has inflicted severe injuries on his 13-year-old son, Tobi, following a church leader’s assertion that the teenage boy was a wizard.
Vanguard reports that elders of Eruemukohwarien community, Ughelli North Local Government Area of Delta State where Mr. Segun, his wife and his victim live, have given him ultimatum to vacate their land.
Prior to the ultimatum, the father-of-five was arrested by the police, and released on bail after he tied Tobi to a burglary proof for three days and burned him with hot iron.
The teenager’s sin was that he was said to be a wizard, which his father and step-mother believed.
“They told us in church that he is a wizard. Because of his bad behaviour my husband used a hot iron to burn his palm and feet, yet he opened the fridge in the house and ate everything.
“This made my husband to tie his hands and legs to the protector for three days.
“On the day we were arrested, our landlord called us on phone to come back home. And when we arrived we were mobbed by a crowd that already gathered in front of the house,” the stepmother told the newspaper.
