One Jacinta Igboke, a teacher at a private primary school in Lagos, has stabbed her ex-lover, Arinze Ani, with whom she has an 18-month old baby, to death.
The incident happened at Old Ojo Road, Satellite Town area of Lagos State, Punchng.com reported.
It said, Jacinta and late Ani when the going was good set out to marry but his family stood in their way on the grounds that she was older than him, a stance which caused friction between them.
As of that time, Jacinta was already pregnant with his baby and when she put to bed the police had to intervene and make Ani to agree to take care of the baby but he never did.
The trouble came to a head following his plan to take a wife on January 4, 2020 and refused to give her money to buy shoes for the baby between them, the suspect told the paper.
“I went there (his shop) the first time but he was not around. I then went to a market to buy some clothes for my child. I went back to the shop and showed him the clothes. I asked him to give me money so I could buy shoes and some other things the boy needed. He pushed me away and a bike almost hit me.
“I entered his shop again angrily and he pushed me. I fell on a pavement and hit my head on the ground. I then picked up a knife in self-defence. I didn’t know when I stabbed him,” she was quoted to have said.
