Katsina governor, Mallam Aminu Bello Masari, said the state got N5bn from the federal government for the establishment of ranches.
Masari stated this at the commissioning of Zobe Regional Water scheme in the state on Thursday.
The governor said the sum was the first tranche of a N6.25bn President Muhammadu Buhari approved for the state to deploy for the establishment of ranches.
According to him: “Mr President has graciously approved the sum of N6.25 billion for ranch development purposes in Katsina State. Part out of this amount, N5 billion is already in the account of the state government and within few weeks you will see advertisement calling for interested companies and consultants that will participate in construction.”
