The federal government has ordered probe into the crash of the Augusta AW139 helicopter conveying Vice President Yemi Osibanjo and ten others including the Minister of State for Labour and Productivity, Prof. Stephen Ocheni, on Sunday at Kabba area of Kogi State.

The rumour of the incident was received with panic. Its confirmation by Osinbajo’s media aide, Laolu Akande, however, put paid to any fear following revelation that the occupants were unhurt.

“VP Osinbajo’s Chopper crash lands in Kabba, but he and the entire crew safe. He is continuing with his engagements and plans for the day in Kogi State,” Akande tweeted via his twitter handle.

Subsequently, Osinbajo himself also went on his Twitter handle  @ProfOsinbajo to express gratitude to Nigerians for their well-wishes.

He said: “All thanks and glory to God, the chopper we boarded today from Abuja just crash landed in Kabba, Kogi State, and the entire crew plus myself are all safe.

“We are continuing with our Next Level Engagements and plans for Kogi State.”
