The Trade Union Congress, TUC, has imputed insensitivity to the federal government alleging that at this difficult time, it is planning to sack 17,000 workers.

Recall that the workers’ union has declared an indefinite strike beginning from October 3 in protest of the untold hardship the removal of the oil subsidy imposed on the general masses and government’s inability to address the situation.

TUC National Deputy President, Tommy Etim, dropped hint of the said workers’ sack in an interview with Punchng where he spoke of the resolve of the union to embark on the planned industrial action.

“It will not just be a total shutdown of the nation, it is going to be the mother of all strikes. Do you know that they are even planning to sack 17,000 workers in this period when Nigerians are suffering great hardships?’’ Etim told the paper.
