Five persons including a policeman and uncle to the spokesperson of Conference of United Political Parties, Ugochinyere Imo, on Saturday lost their lives in coordinated attacks on PVCs collection centres by gunmen in Imo State.
The attacks were carried out by the marauding assailants during the collection of PVCs exercise at different centres leaving five dead, with several injured including some officials of the Independent Electoral Commission, INEC.
At the country home of the spokesperson of Conference of United Political Parties, Ugochinyere Imo, his uncle was killed alongside three others.
Imo, who confirmed the attack to newsmen in a WhatsApp message disclosed that his uncle was killed in the attack.
He called for help as his home was under siege.
Imo wrote: “Emergency. We need help at Akokwa… We are under attack… My house is in Akokwa… They have surrounded it and opened fire. We are under attack. Help! Help!
“We need help… My uncle has been killed now…They are setting everything on fire. Please help.”
