Four men have been arraigned before an Ejigbo Magistrates’ Court, Lagos for allegedly setting their dog on Ikeja Electric workers, Olukanni Babatunde and Akanbi Adedayo.
The accused, namely Joel Aisabor, 27, Victor Omonzokpea, 24, Ehis Omonzokpea, 20, and Prosper Nwaocha, 18, were arraigned on a five-count charge of conspiracy, breach of peace, assault, causing body injury and unleashing dog on the victims.
Police Prosecutor Kenneth Asibor told the court that the alleged offences were punishable under Sections 411, 168(d), 172, 173 and 350(a) of the Criminal Laws of Lagos, 2015.
He said the defendants on February 15, conspired and assaulted the victims, adding that Aisabor locked his gate and unleashed his dog on Babatunde which caused him body injuries.
Asibor alleged that the defendants also tore the uniforms of the victims.
When the charges were read to the defendants, they pleaded not guilty.
The court granted them bail in the sum of N50,000 with a surety each who must provide two years tax evidence.
The case was adjourned till March 30 for mention while the defendants were taken to Kirikiri Correctional Centre pending when they meet their bail conditions.
