Three persons have been arrested for gang-raping a 13-year-old due to issue they have with her father.
One of the suspects involved in the act is on the run. The arrest of his colleagues was made by the National Agency for Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons, Anambra State, alongside vigilantes.
This incident was related to newsmen by the state Commissioner for Women and Social Affairs, Ify Obinabo, in Awka on Wednesday through her media aide, Chidimma Ikeanyionwu.
The suspects, the Commissioner said, have been handed over to the police for prosecution, adding that the victim did well for speaking up, and for that, stood a good chance to get justice.
She explained that two of the suspects owned up to the crime while the other denied he had hands in it, a denial the victim rebutted saying he took the second turn.
