Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, has described suspended Governor of Rivers State as his “son” and “boy”.
Wike, a former Rivers governor and his successor, the Accountant General of the state while the minister(Wike) was the state governor have been at loggerheads, which culminated in the suspension of Fubara by President Bola Tinubu.
Speaking in an interview with BBC News Pidgin on Saturday, Wike said he was not fighting Fubara because he’s his son and boy, adding that the suspended governor was pushed to fight him, allegedly by those who wanted to reap where they did not sow.
“That one is not a battle. He (Fubara) is my boy, he is my son, why will I fight with him? I’m only fighting against people who want to steal what they did not work for. When you don’t defeat them, they will think you… Defeat them to the final stage.
“Now, they are ashamed because they are being defeated. They are the ones pushing Fubara,” the FCT Minister said.
