Late Mrs. Olakunrin’s death occurred at Ore junction in Ondo State on her way from Akure where she had gone from Lagos to commiserate with her mother’s family members ( the Awosikas) on the demise of a relation.
The 58-year-old reportedly ran into a barricade allegedly mounted by marauding Fulani herdsmen who forced three vehicles to stop including inter-state commercial bus, Young Shall Grow, a Toyata land cruiser the deceased rode in and a Toyota Camry, robbed the occupants and abducted one of their victims.
The Afenifere leader’s daughter, who was shot by their attackers, was the only casualty.
Police spokesman in Ondo State confirmed the incident but was coy about whether the perpetrators of the dastardly act, were Fulani herdsmen.
