Kano State governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf, said ex-governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje allocated most government land and properties to his family members and cronies, claiming over 70 percent of Kano State Polytechnic land currently in dispute are alloted to his predecessor’s wife, Hafast.
Remember that the latter was brought before the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission by her son, Abdulaziz over alleged fraud in respect of land matter during their time as Kano first family.
This time, Gov. Yusuf has prioritized the state government regaining some land and properties belonging to it, but sold by past administration, and to that end, has been carrying out several demolition exercise.
The incumbent justified his controversial action on Sunday at Africa House, Kano, alluding conflict of interest to Ganduje by allegedly allocating government’s properties to his spouse.
“That place belongs to the masses. Instead of building hostels, lecture theaters, and a sports complex for the benefit of students, rather they converted the lands for their personal use’’, he said.
