Gov. Ganduje

Kano Governor Abdullahi Ganduje has called for the ban on nomadic cattle breeding across the nation.

Ganduje made the call in Daura, Katsina where alongside nine other governors elected on the platform of the All Progressives Congress, APC, accompanied President Muhammadu Buhari to revalidate his membership of the party.

The governor in his view on the intractable farmers/cattle herders conflicts said the silver bullet is a law banning movement of cows from the north to the Middle Belt and the southern parts.

His word, “My advocacy is that we should abolish the transportation or trekking of herdsmen from the northern part of Nigeria to the Middle Belt and to the Southern part of Nigeria.

“There should be a law that will ban, otherwise we cannot control the conflicts between herdsmen and farmers and cannot control the cattle rustling, which is affecting us greatly.”
