A member of the Ekiti State House of Assembly, Gboyega Aribisogan, was yesterday morning arrested at his house in the state.

Aribisogan, who was elected on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party but defected to the All Progressive Congress in the wake of his suspension by the House, is the publisher of New Democrat. and may have been arrested in connection with a publication carried by the news magazine.
The lawmaker’s brother, Sola, who witnessed his arrest told journalists that about 10 policemen from the Federal Special Anti Robbery Squad and the Department of State Services whisked him away at 6.30am.
He said, “The security men came in a Toyota Hummer bus, they did not search the house, but they only showed their identity cards. They arrived at about 6.00am and left at 7.35am.”
