President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo’s last State of the Nation address in parliament on Friday encountered disruption as his aide-de-camp (ADC), Colonel Isaac Amponsah, collapsed.

In a viral video of the moment, Amponsah, fell midway into Mr Akufo-Addo’s address before the Ghana parliament.

Leading up to the incident, Mr Amposah showed discomfort before slumping.

The situation interrupted the President’s address but he resumed his presentation after a few minutes, after the ADC was carried to a corner of the auditorium for medical attention.

In Amponsah’s place, the aide-de-camp of the Vice President, a police officer, immediately took over to stand behind the President.

The cause of his collapse was yet to be ascertained at press time.
