Ghanaian lawyer Sarah Araba Tettey has died after collapsing while celebrating Ghana’s victory over Panama at the ongoing FIFA World Cup.
The 26-year-old, an alumna of Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), according to local reports was called to bar last year and worked at a chamber, O & A Legal Consult before her death.
Sarah’s death it was reported, occurred on Wednesday at the Standard Hostel, a private hostel located in Bomso near her alma mata where she was watching the match alongside her friends.
Reports say she slumped while celebrating during the post-match event, with all efforts to revive her even at the hospital she was rushed to in vain.
News of her death has triggered an outpouring of grief on social media, with friends, colleagues and former classmates paying tribute to her and describing her as a promising young legal professional whose life was cut short.
