Former governor of Kaduna State, Nasir El-Rufai, has come under online fire for saying envy is the bane of Nigeria, with an aide of Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, Banks Omishore, one of his attackers.
The trolling followed the remark made by El-Rufai on X on Saturday: “No matter what, the incurable virus of envy has to be confronted and degraded, if not cured, if Nigeria is to achieve its manifest destiny of greatness and leadership of the Black Race. I pray this can be realised.”
This he said against the backdrop of the emergence of United States Vice president Kamala Harris as Democratic Party presidential candidate.
The post was met with several netizens jumping on the former FCT minister, among them Omishore, who used to be a media aide of Bukola Saraki during the time of Saraki as Senate President.

“Do you think Nigerians have forgotten your malicious persecution of @bukolasaraki that you spearheaded in 2015 with the same people who are now repaying you in kind? Was it envy that fueled your hatred of @bukolasaraki? You wanting Saraki to fail so badly was it just for your own amusement, or was it all just politics at the expense of Nigerians?” Omishore wrote.
