The report that Governor Usman Ododo of Kogi State is set to dump the All Progressives Congress, APC, and join the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has drawn his denial by proxy.

For context, Ododo’s predecessor and godfather, Yahaya Bello, is having a running battle with the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, over alleged N80bn fraud during his time in the saddle of the state.

A picture of Ododo with ten governors elected on the platform of PDP attired in the same clothes trending online, prompted tongues to begin to wag online.

Some netizens are saying that, he’s planning to decamp to the opposition party.

Credence was given to the rumour due to the fact that the picture was taken in Taraba State where PDP governors met and issued a communique on the crisis rocking their party.

It has got Ododo talking through Kogi State Commissioner for Information and Communication, Kingsley Fanwo, who rubbished the report via a post on X.

In the rejoinder, Fanwo explained the circumstances that surrounded Ododo’s presence in the midst of PDP governors.

The post: “The Chief Servant of Kogi State, His Excellency Alh Ahmed Usman Ododo jet out hours after his Supreme Court victory to attend the wedding of the daughter of the Taraba State Governor, His Excellency Agbu Kefas in Taraba.

“The wedding was also attended by Captains of industries and other Governors across the country. Governor Ododo wishes the new couple a happy married life.”
