Mubarak Ahmad-Gumi, son of prominent Kaduna-based Islamic cleric, Ahmad Gumi, has declared his intention to vie for a seat in the state House of Assembly in the 2027 general election.
Ahmad-Gumi, a member of the ruling All Progressives Congress, currently serves as a legislative aide to the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Tajudeen Abbas.
He announced his aspiration to represent the people of Doka/Gabasawa constituency at a stakeholders’ meeting where he said his decision was in response to call from his constituents to vie for the office.
He said his experience at the National Assembly stood him in good stead to do well in the Assembly if elected.
“My legislative experience has given me firsthand insight into how laws are shaped, how policies impact citizens, and how vital effective representation is,” he stated.
