A dark shadow was this morning cast over the Cross River State House of Assembly following the death of Hon. Steven Ukpukpen.

The lawmaker representing Obudu Constituency slumped during an early morning workout at 7am along Moore Road in Calabar, reports said.
According to persons who witnessed the scene when it unfolded, Late Ukpukpen was rushed to a nearby Navy Clinic where he was rejected and was pronounced dead at another hospital where he was transferred to.
Among those that survived the deceased was said to be his wife, Mrs. Abbey Ukpukpen(nee Awara).
