Actor Femi Branch has revealed that his father was at inception of his acting career against it to the point that he cut ties with him.
The thespian told Punch.com that the Senior Branch’s wish for him was to be a lawyer, and after having his first degree in theatre arts he tried to do his dad’s bidding by returning to school to bag diploma in law.
Their relationship broke down when he started his acting career only to be repaired by an MTN commercial, the Ogun-born actor told the paper.
He said, “For him, it was a disappointment and he almost did not contact me for about two years. Our fight was settled when I did a commercial for MTN. I was not in Lagos and we had not spoken for a long time before that and out of the blue, I got a call from my dad; he was asking me how I was doing. He said that he saw the advertisement and congratulated me on it.”
