Senator Ali Ndume has absolved the federal government of blame over the rising cost of foodstuffs.

The incumbent open abolition of oil subsidy and its resort to floating the naira have bred high cost of living with cost of foodstuffs skyrocketing throwing many Nigerians into hunger.

In the estimation of Ndume, the fault is not that of government but some Nigerians conferring wicked advantage on themselves following the naira floating.

The Senate Chief opined this in an interview with Punchng saying, “The problem we have is in foreign exchange, but most of our foods are produced locally. So, the increment is on people who decide to take advantage of the foreign exchange.

“For instance, we don’t import corn, beans and other foodstuff, so why are the prices of foodstuff going up?”
