Tiwa Savage said twice she was consumed with the thought of committing suicide out of racial abuse.
The musician said it all happened in London where she relocated to with her parents at aged, 10 in an interview on Bounce Live Radio.
The mother-of-one said she was butt of racial jokes in school because of her strong African accent saying, “I was teased so bad. They used to call me ‘African girl’, ‘Foo foo’, ‘Your food smells’ and so on. It was terrible. It was so bad that I literally tried to kill myself two times. I was really depressed.”
