Former Governor of Kano State, Abubakar Ganduje, said his predecessor, Rabiu Kwankwaso escaped a slap from him on Friday in Abuja.

Ganduje and Kwankwaso have been dragging political control of Kano between them with the on-going efforts by the new governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf(Kwankwaso’s protégé) to repossess government property sold on the immediate past governor’s watch exacerbating their rift.

Both were in the Villa on Friday to meet differently with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, after which Ganduje in an interview with State House correspondents said the former minister would have received a slap to the face if they had met in the Villa.

“I know that he is in the building. But we did not meet inside. I would have slapped him if I met him inside,” he told newsmen.
