A traditional priest, Muritala Shodiya, aka Ifa, has killed himself following his wife’s decision to dump him for another man.
The incident happens at Adebiopon Village in the Obafemi Owode Local Government Area of Ogun State on Wednesday.
Ifa who was widely known for fortune-telling and Ifa worship had fallen into depression after the wife broke up with him and remarried another man, according to multiple accounts.
The culmination sources said was that he decided to end it all on Wednesday evening and sneaked into an an uncompleted building where he doused himself with petrol and set himself ablaze.
In the throes of agony, late Ifa was said to have crawled out of the building prompting eyewitnesses to rush to his aid.
This medium gathered that he was rushed to General Hospital, Ijaye, Abeokuta, where doctors pronounced him dead on Thursday morning.
