Speaking on their behalves the traditional ruler of Ibagwa Nike community in the Enugu East Local Government Area of the State, Igwe Emmanuel Ugwu, said Ikechukwu’s killer must be brought to book and called on the federal government and the Inspector General of Police to initiate the process.
Ugwu demanded the payment of compensation to the bereaved family driver claiming he was their breadwinner and left behind a wife, mother and seven siblings.
Controversy surrounded the circumstances surrounding Ikechuwku’s killing who was caught in the crossfire between protesters and the police at Surulere area of Lagos State.
The deceased was behind the wheel when a gunshot fired by either of the police or protesters killed him with both trading accusing fingers.
