Governor Nasir Idris of Kebbi State said he is prepared to sign the death warrant of any convicted informant aiding bandits within 24 hours of conviction.
The governor made this known during his condolence visit to the Zogirma community in Bunza Local Government Area, where members of the Lakurawa gang killed three police officers.
Idris has his say on the part said to have been played by bandits’ informants in the melancholy event.
Speaking, Idris described the informants as “bad eggs” who sabotage national security for petty gains.
“They deserve capital punishment and should not live among us. I will not hesitate to sign their death warrant. I do not support life imprisonment for such individuals,” he added.
“We will do everythinghumanly possible to ensure our citizens sleep with both eyes closed. Security remains our top priority, and we will not treat it with levity,” he also said.
