Abdullahi had died on Wednesday, July 26, 2017, after complaining of stomach pain on his return from a social gathering with the cleric.

His remains was immediately committed to mother earth according to Islamic injunction.

Babatunde, however, sparked rumour that he masterminded the death of the deceased, who was his childhood after he secretly exhumed his body seven days after the burial, took it to his residence at Eleran quarters in Oloje area of Ilorin, and proceeded to dismember it.

The suspect’s barbaric act was exposed when the foul stench from the decomposing body that pervaded the air around his neighbourhood was traced to his house where he lived alone by neighbours.

The cleric reportedly sneaked out of his house and escaped arrest and possible lynching when he realised he had been found out.

As at the time of this publication, he was still on the run.

Reports say investigation later revealed that the dismembered body found in his house was that of his deceased friend, Abdullahi.

It was said that the place where the deceased was buried in had been tampered with and his body missing.
